As the eighth largest regional alumni club, the not-for-profit Dartmouth Alumni Association of Silicon Valley (DAASV) was formally established in 1968, but has roots dating back to 1881. The DAASV was founded to conduct educational, professional, athletic, social, and charitable activities relating to Dartmouth College. It seeks to extend the Dartmouth experience to both undergraduate and graduate alumni, their partners/spouses, families, parents, as well as current and prospective students, and friends of Dartmouth College in a wide range of programs and events in the greater Silicon Valley.
Our Mission
The DAASV’s mission is to foster fellowship throughout the extended Dartmouth community through a large spectrum of intellectual, educational, professional, athletic, social, and charitable events and activities.
Our Goals
- To build and sustain an active Silicon Valley alumni organization enthusiastically committed to furthering the welfare and best interests of the local Dartmouth community. This Association embraces all Bay Area alumni and their families.
- To provide a channel for continued intellectual growth by offering opportunities for thoughtful exchange.
- To enhance the image of Dartmouth through community outreach.
- To establish and sustain an active forum for professional and social networking.
- To create and sustain an adjunct network for the College to support student admissions and career placement, as well as provide warm reception for College visitors.
- To create a sense of pride in DAASV events and activities by maintaining an Association that operates as a cooperative community in which each Silicon Valley Dartmouth alumnus, alumna, spouse, parent, student, and friend can participate.
Leadership
The DAASV leadership meets regularly at the University Club in Palo Alto. All DAASV members are encouraged to attend, learn about the Board and it’s committees, and get involved. Meeting dates and times are posted on the Events page, and in each Club newsletter. The DAASV leadership consists of an 18 member Board of Innovators (four of whom serve in an executive capacity known as Officers) and numerous committee chairpersons. Leadership elections and appointments are held each winter, and are open to all paid members of the DAASV community, including spouses/partners and parents. Officers and Directors are elected to two-year terms. Chairpersons are appointed for one-year terms. The current Club leaders are:

Who We Are
Next time you believe you recognize someone while walking down University Avenue in Palo Alto, or surfing in Santa Cruz, or holding a business meeting in downtown San Jose, think Dartmouth. It could be the source of the connection.
There are approximately 1,600 members of the Dartmouth family living in the Silicon Valley area. We are innovative. We run companies. We rear families. We are collegiate professors and elementary school teachers. Many of us practice law or medicine. And hundreds of us are redefining the world with marvels of engineering and technology.
The majority of the DAASV’s of the DAASV members reside in the Palo Alto/Los Altos/Menlo Park triangle. The rest stretch from the Association’s northern border of Pacifica to its southern border of San Luis Obispo, nearly 115 miles away.
