Volunteer Planting Program with Cal State Parks Foundation
Join fellow Dartmouth alums in assisting CSPF’s Park Champions Program, which was created in response to budget cuts facing California State Parks. This event is part of an ongoing habitat rehabilitation project at Half Moon Bay State Beach and will focus on planting native plants. Kids ages 10+ welcome with a legal guardian. Sorry, no pets allowed.
Program manager, Phoebe Oelheim, requests everyone sign up online at http://www.calparks.org/help/volunteer.html so Cal Parks Foundation can get an accurate headcount. This will enable you to independently cancel if you can no longer attend.
Volunteers should wear closed toes shoes and layered clothing, and bring a water bottle. If you have work gloves, bring those too. The plants are natives that volunteers have grown at the Half Moon Bay nursery.
The Half Moon Bay State Beach Visitor Center is open on Saturdays. Admission is free. The Visitor Center is completely accessible.
