April is peak wildflower season at the only natural preserve in San Mateo County. Due to this year’s rains, the flowers on the serpentine grasslands are expected to be spectacular! Plus, there is an excellent chance to see the threatened Bay Checkerspot butterfly.

Friends of Edgewood Park docents will lead us on a Dartmouth-only, moderate hike with frequent stops in the park, leaving from the Clarkia Trailhead off Cañada Road near I-280. (Restrooms and water are available only at the Education Center by Edgewood Road.) Wear sturdy shoes and sunscreen, and bring water, a hat, and a snack if you wish.
